Richard Dufresne
If you are suffering from depression, anxiety, marital stress or the effects of trauma, Richard provides a supportive and safe environment in which to address these issues and identify helpful, healthy strategies.
Richard specializes in solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). For example, in couples therapy each partner will learn the necessary tools and skills to move past old conflicts, to improve communication and to develop a more mutually satisfying relationship.
In addition to treating depression and anxiety, Richard helps individual adults, age 18 and older, who are facing changes in career, relationships and family. He combines his 20 plus years of experience as a life coach and psychotherapist to help clients to discern the next steps in their lives in a purposeful and thoughtful manner.
With a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Boston University, Richard is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, a member of the National Association of Social Workers and a member of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA). Richard is one of the top 10 presenters in the Northeast for CIGNA EAP, speaking to employee groups on health and well-being.
“It’s very important to me to provide a supportive, safe and welcoming environment where people can feel comfortable exploring the sources of conflict, anxiety and depression, and what they can do to help themselves.”
